...like me at the moment.
Well anyway... just a WIP expanded on something I made a while back. I have some ideas of what I wanna do with the space, but I haven't finished it yet.

Yeah, I am used to that grainy look images when using few samples for analizing how the scene is coming out. High samples pics turn out very cool, but damn! They took like 30 or more minutes to generate and makes my laptop really hot ^^;
Btw, you're scene looks pretty nice

I'd sooner battle with Blender's internal engine before using cycles if my horsepower was limited. Thankfully I have a few of my own rendering servers that I use for the really big stuff. xD I've always used Blender... even back before it was cool. xD Hell, I'm still using version 2.49 for all my modeling (I like the lighter weight UI). I only use the later versions for rendering.
Btw, try refreshing this page. I cleaned up the render a lil' bit. c:

I actually used to have quite a renderfarm setup back when they were still testing 2.5x. This was before cycles came along. At the time, they had a new netrender feature, which I don't think ever got to be fully polished, but it was quite handy for me. I longed for a bucket-rendering setup where I could render one large image on multiple machines simultaneously, but this never happened. Instead, frames for rendering were assigned to different computers, and compiled on a central server. I used to, and still do have a server rack setup filled with 10 1U servers, eight of which are xserves. These days they've been assigned more to data hosting rather than rendering nodes, but the hardware is still capable. ...barely by today's standards though. xD
I never tried again to get the renderfarm going again. Last time I had it working was about 5 years ago. Ahh well. Maybe someday I'll try again if I ever have a need to. When I need a LOT of extra horsepower, I have a headless rackmount hackentosh built from scrap with an overclocked CPU that works quite nicely. c: To give you an idea of it's capability, it can rip a DVD in 5 minutes flat.
