I did this today as an example of what I'll be offering at Artist Alley at Anthrocon this year. I'm still not set on a price yet. For the time that goes into this It will probably be around $40-$50 and $15-$25 for every extra character.
I would say I would only do a limited amount of these to make sure I finish in time before Artist's Alley closes.
