Everyone has these days when everything breaks apart around you and all you can do is cry.
That even goes for a hard-boiled Ex-Commando and now Freelancer in a Cyberpunk World. A world full of terror and suffering, for those who are trying to oppose the system.
And it doesn't exactly help if you are an artificially created, genetically modified and augmented being, created only to fight and kill... and later confronted with your humanity, compassion and the fact that you're just a broken teenager inside.
Not loud tears, tho. No wailing, no howling ... just a few silent tears, when you think that you are alone.

ragnorena offered some of her fantastic avatars a short time ago, using only a very limited color palette in creation. Only 5 colors, if I remember correctly. The result is really, really awesome and she captured my freelancer bear-hybrid really good.

He thinks that he has to stay strong for his friends, his team. He is the leader, the most advanced fighter of the team...thanks to the BioResearch Megacorp. Which they fight against.
And discovering his humanity (that he should not have in the first place) was a very painful process that ended in his defection from BioResearch. He was the leader of a Black OPs team and had to go through them to escape.

He's not a machine. But he is tank-born and augmented with military grade implants. And they tried to suppress his humanity with psychological and pharmacological means. Plus he had no childhood, but was pulled out of the tank at a later stage of developement. He's also much younger than his looks would suggest.
Sadly he is no chemist, just a very skilled fighter and a good team leader.
And ultimately there's only one outcome to the whole thing. It's not very realistic to think that a team of four people can survive an asymmetric war against a big corporation forever. They can do a lot of damage and then vanish again. But one day, they'll will either be too slow or run into a trap. But until then ...
