I played around with the icon I posted a little bit earlier, and I managed to do a very crude magic wand cutout, as you can see with the inside of the ear being nonexistent. I then did some duplicates of the initial layer with drastically increasing noise. I forgot what I did with the background though, but I do think it gives it a nice feel.
