The dragon was always going to be safe, that was never in doubt, unless the kobold screws up. The kobold is going to die or be horribly tortured for its crimes if it is caught.

Hmmm. Judging from his expression (which you have conveyed well) Kidnap'bold seems to be in the "what the hell am I doing?" stage of this. I do hope he planned better than it seems. His end will be a painful one, otherwise. I hope the dire weasel cavalry doesn't get to him, first.
