Yeah, I used to love ElfQuest when I was younger! I don't like the new EQ comics, though. Pini's style has changed so much I don't find it attractive anymore... And the new series are mostly drawn by hirelings anyway.

I don't deliberately try to draw like Pini myself, I just can't help liking smooth curves and a comic book colouring style. *^_^*

Yeah, same here. I learned how to draw human anatomy *coughelves* from the original comics 10 years ago. I can pinpoint EQ influence a mile away ^_~

At least they teamed up with Barry Blair, the dude who did Elflord. *luvluvluv*

I still think EQ would be better if Pini did all the work herself. I think that success has sort of gone into her head. <_<

Lovely idea! The coloring looks so soft! THe sky is really nice, like his ritual makes it turns it so magical looking^^ And his pose and the fox poses are full of motion ^^

Thank you for your kind comment! I was afraid the figures would look like as if they were just hovering in the air, but I'm glad you think there's motion in the picture. Yay, I feel like I did something right! =D

Yub, sooner or later, I think. I'm not exactly sure how it will happen, though. I suppose that one night he will just abandon his clothes and walk into the dark woods, turning into a fox overnight. =)

I think you could have done better than just using the photoshop cloud generator, and the lightning bolt could have been done better as well, brighter, not as transparent, and still retaining that magical blue tone. Also, it looks like it's striking the horizon. perspectivewise it would have been better to have it strike bellow the horizon line, to match how it's not near the horizon at its origin.
Since the grass seems pretty high, you could have drawn some of it infront of them, to make them be a bit more part of the scene, as I'm sure they're not jumping above the grass
I hope these critiques arn't too much, the image -is- really nice ^^; the concept as well.
The little fox also seems quite happy about the situation. Could that be someone else who was changed as well?

actually, I take back what I said about the horizon, the camera is low to the ground, and it makes sense for the bolt to hit where it's hitting. nevermind about that ^^;

I don't mind the critique at all, dear! In fact, it's very helpful to me. I did try putting some hay strands in front of the two to create certain kind of depht, but they were too small and... uh... then I got distracted by other things. =D

I'm still learning the basics of Photoshop, so I'm taking small baby steps. I actually only now found the "free transform" option and I tried it out to see if I could flatten the cloud pattern to match the horizontal perspective.

The pic is a bit shaky, but I do like the concpet as well! I think the little fox might've also been transformed. Or then he's just happy in knowing that he'll soon have a new fox friend to play with. =)

The dancer kinda reminds me of Micheal Flatley, but it's some aweome work!

To tell you the truth, I did watch some old Riverdance video clips before drawing him... I'm into Irish tap dancing myself. It's been my hobby for some years, though recently I haven't had time to dance as much as I used to. *bashful* 9_9

Looks really cool! I like how you added blue light on them from the flash of lightning, but I might think that there'd be more of a shadow on the grass from them?

Thanks! I'm not really sure how the lightning ought to look like... I thought it was so far away it wouldn't leave too much shadows and stuff, but then again I wanted to add some blue light 'cause I thought it would look good. Hehe, this is just one of the reasons I don't often draw backgrounds. ^^;;

mmm now he looks yummy, kinda reminds me of David Bowie/Goblin King with those cheekbones ^_^ The colors are just dreamy and I love the movement in the picture

Could well be, I imagine the line between a fox and a human might not be that strict in this case. I think they're turning into foxes and humans pretty much whenever they want. =)
