Hey again, people. I got back from vacation a couple days ago. So to get back into the swing of drawing, I decided to revamp an old robot concept.
Omega Alpha's design has been in my old sketchbooks for nearly ten years now. It's the first of a bunch of A.I.-controlled mech-dragons I came up with, and no surprise, it's look was heavily influenced by the Mobile Suit Gundam aesthetic. I haven't taken the time to draw more of these mech-dragons since I signed up on FA though. Not to mention, I haven't drawn anything mecha-related for quite a bit too. So, I went a little all out revamping the general design, and I'm really surprised how well this turned out! A colored version is in the works.

dragon?
sorry mate, but with that beak he looks much more like a bird than a dragon.
still a pretty damn cool design though. the only issue i have would be these fuel lines on the torso or whatever those are supposed to be, because they look like a pretty exposed weakspot to me.

The tubes do stick out, but they are tougher than they look. They are meshed for bother flexibility and strength. Still if something significant hits it, yeah, they will break like any other pipe would. However, this is an early design. Later designs, esspecially the mass produced versions of these get rid of the piping altogether.
The beak does look a little birdish, but it was an aesthetic choice that brought it all together. Then again, Ratheloses and Rathians get away with beaks and still get to be called dragons...
About the head cannon though, this was the first concept with this design. Almost every other design after this one actually have head cannons situated under the top fins. The mass produced versions of these actually have a singular Vulcan in the middle of the forehead.
Sometimes they don't need them though. There are a number of gundam and mobile suits that don't have vulcans altogether, so it would seem fitting to keep this early mech-dragon basic.

Let's see...
Double Zeta double cannon.
Tallgeese verniers.
Gelgoog's arm cannons.
The pointed cockpit is probably from strike gundam but I may be wrong...
Nice job! Though the exterior tubes are too much of a vulnerability, a zaku can latch on them, also they are in front of the hip exhausts.
Though I don't recall where the shoulder launcher is from... Oh and by the way where are the beam sabers stored?
Not that I'm a Gundam Nerd. No sir. Not one bit.

This one doesn't transform. I do have a later model version that does though, and it's the only one that has a cockpit.
