Mmmm... Tasty. That's supposed to be a reference to MGS3, where you can eat all kinds of meat and fruit.... and if it's poisonous or rotten, you die unless you throw up.

That's what the Yoshi codec is a reference to as well...even though Solid never had that element applied to his games. Then again, I often say he's a gun buff(he SORT of is) even though Naked was the one who obsessed over them...

Yeah, the Solid Snake in Brawl was mostly regular MGS Solid Snake, but they took some of Naked Snake's qualities and added it to the character to make him funnier. It worked, thankfully. If it was just regular MGS Snake, then the CODEC calls would all be: "Colonel, how do I kill it?" "Just use your gun, Snake." "...I don't have it."
