Marla bio
Marla Mancer was born to Samual and Loretta Mancer, members of one of the last clans alive that could use real magic. The only other surviving members of her family were her five year elder brother Issac and her grandmother Nasuca, all of whom could use magic. As their clan was one of the last that could use magic, they remained on the move constantly lest people found out and killed or used them for their own gain. They had to move as using magic on or in front of other people was punishable by death by their laws. As a result, none of their family had held jobs since they could just use magic to get whatever they needed.
When Marla began to show signs of using basic magic at age three by causing sparks for her amusement, her training under grandmother began immediately. From that day, most of everyday of Marla's life was dominated by learning and practicing magic from her grandmother, and a basic education from her mother. Although Marla had a lot of natural talent, more than than anyone could remember from the recent past, nothing she did ever seemed to be good enough for her grandmother. The old husky pushed her well into the night until everything Marla did was perfect. When Marla grew fed up one day, she asked what the point of it all was. Her grandmother told her that she had to be pushed hard to be the best. Their family held a legend that they had long ago defeated and sealed away an ancient evil that tried to destroy not only their world, but all worlds. Though they had won, a prophet foretold that someday someone would realize it. When freed, it would return and try to destroy all creation again. Lastly, the prophet told them that only the strongest of their bloodline could possibly stop it. It was why they all had to push themselves so hard. It was tradition.
Marla quickly grew to hate tradition and authority. Not only because she found it pointless to move constantly and push themselves to the breaking point because of some stupid old legend, but because as she began to get all of her grandmother's attention, a rift began to grow between her and her brother. Before Marla showed such great promise, Issac had been the one personally trained by their grandmother. Afterwords, he had been passed on to their less powerful father, even though Issac believed and followed their traditions. Issac resented Marla for this deeply. Her parents, however, were very proud of their daughter and were not shy of letting her know it.
When she was twelve years old, and after dozens of home relocations, Marla's parents told them they had been contacted by another clan that had helped them fight the ancient evil. This other clan wanted to meet up, and hopefully combine their clans into one by marrying Issac to their daughter. At first, both children were outraged by the arranged marriage, but their parents told them they didn't have a choice. As it turned out their parents had also been married off by their parents. Although they hadn't like each other at first, money soon grew to love each other. Most worrying Marla, however, was their promise that one day she would be married in such a way as well. The only good thing about it was that until the wedding, the two families would move into a town and get to know each other by having the two go to school together.
On her first day of public school left Marla completely adrift, not knowing how to interact with other children her age. It wasn't until lunch that she noticed a quiet vixen sitting alone at the back of the lunch room. Deciding she could handle one on one conversation, she made her way to the table and sat down. the fox seemed surprised that anyone would sit with her and didn't say much. Marla didn't mind however, and carried out a mostly one sided conversation, though she did find out the vixen a name: Jenna Esteed.
Marla wasn't sure what it was, but she liked the younger Jenna. She continued to sit with and talk with Jenna, who eventually opened up. In no time at all, the two became good friends. Her family was not pleased, particularly her brother, as Marla began spending all of her time with the fox. She even began to skip her training for Jenna and the other kids from her school. After some time, Marla found she liked and trusted Jenna more than anyone else in her life, especially after her parents announcement that they planed to one day force her to marry someone. Eventually, Marla snuck Jenna into her home, and down to her training room, showing Jenna her magic, and the other various things her family had. Jenna swore never to tell a soul, and thanked Marla for showing her. It made Marla happy to share her family's secret with someone.
The years passed and Marla entered high school. At first she hated it, since, being older, she was no longer going to the same school with Jenna. She adjusted, still being able to see Jenna after school, but her training was now doubled. Her grandmother told her this period was the most important part of development. She still spent as much time as she could with the vixen, but not as much as she would like.
At this time, she also began to experience new urges. She knew what was happening, but not how to deal with it. Every time she tried to take care of the urges, all she could think off was her best friend, Jenna. She tried a few partners, trying to deny her feelings, but nothing worked. After Jenna entered high school, Marla grew a little worried seeing her friend explore her sexuality far more freely than the husky had. Although Jenna used all protection possible, Marla still worried. When Jenna began experimenting with other girls, Marla was tempted to tell her friend of the feelings she'd been having, but was to scared of alienating the fox.
Marla's concerns grew more when Jenna began seeing a rich tiger by the name of Markus. When Jenna had returned from their first 'date' bruised and battered, Marla was furious. It took a great deal of convincing from Jenna that she had agreed to everything that Markus had done to her. Although still angry, Marla couldn't stop Jenna and so began to study bdsm on her own to make sure her friend was still safe.
Meanwhile, she was fighting more and more with her family. After her brother's wedding, her parents had wanted to move on, but Marla steadfastly refused. She threatened to disown her family and stay behind, which was the only reason they remained stationary. Everyday they tried to convince her to abandon Jenna and her other friends and stay with the family that loves her. They told her that if the Jenna and the world found out about her magic, they would use her or kill her. It comforted Marla that they didn't know Jenna already knew and hadn't treated her any differently.
It continued this way until one day Marla received a call that Jenna was in the hospital. Wasting no time, she rushed over to find that her friend had been savagely beaten. The doctors said she'd simply appeared in the lobby, but Marla knew exactly who had done this to her friend. She left the unconscious Jenna and made her way to the home of Markus. Blinded by anger, Marla marched to the front door and blasted it open with her magic, sealing the other exits at the same time. She hunted him through the house for over an hour, chasing and releasing him to frighten him. Finally, she cornered him in his bedroom. Using her magic, she injured him greatly before burning his fur white. She let him live, but promised she'd be back to finish him if he every came near Jenna again.
As she left, she suddenly felt very strange before blacking out. When she awoke, she found back in her home, bound by magicly infused ropes, blocking her from casting spells. Her family stood around her, all of them wearing furious faces. They knew what she had done, and they were all disappointed in her. They had brought her there to face her punishment. Her brother, the most upset of all, called for the harshest punishment they could: her death. Marla was hurt that Issac would want to see her dead, but after much deliberation, her mother, father, and grandmother decided that they couldn't kill her, even given what she'd done. They instead banished her. She could never return, and they would never acknowledge her again. As rocky as her relationship with her family had been, Marla was deeply hurt by this. She left her home, for the last time, and returned to the hospital.
When she arrived, she found Jenna awake again. Marla was joyed beyond words. She happily told the vixen she wouldn't have to worry about Markus anymore. After years of keeping quiet, she decided she had nothing left to lose. When she was done telling Jenna about Markus, she confessed her love for the younger fox. She apologized for not saying anything sooner and asked if there was a chance between them. She quickly grew worried when Jenna fell silent, but after a minute, Jenna told Marla she wanted to try to be together with her. Overjoyed, Marla leaned in and the two girls shared their first kiss.
Marla decided to move in with Jenna and her mother until Jenna graduated. Jenna's mom was very kind and while she never said anything about it, Marla tried to find a job to help pay for her stay. The problem, however, was that neither she nor her family had ever had to have jobs before. She tried her best but always seem to mess something up or just turned out to be to irresponsible. Finally fed up with trying to work for a living, she decided to try what she was good at. She began to discreetly sell her magic services to those she trusted. This turned out to be far more effective and this became her primary source of income.
After Jenna graduated, the two moved to another town near by. They rented a small apartment together and were very happy with each other. Jenna got a job at an office building while Marla continued to take odd jobs here and there and sell her magic. Although the two have an open relationship, there relationship is very strong. Jenna is the more sexually active of the two by far but Marla also enjoys time with others, so long as her vixen is their for her to return to. All in all, the two have a happy home and not many concerns.

I love this story, it has a nice bit of backstory with nothing really needing tying up at the end of it, but the ending leaves room for expansion of there life together later one if you ever wrote more. I do like the ancient evil prophecy bit, as that could be a future story, I do hope it will be :)
I hope to be able to write something of this caliber some day, if only collage was not so hectic :P
