With less than 48 hours left in my latest 'sweeps month' (May, 2015), I have enough time to post another rare anthropomorphic image from the pages of my "BBS" ("Big Black Sketchbook")...
This time, I have a drawing of a futuristic raccoon (who is not to be confused with popular character 'Rocket Raccoon'), rendered by American-born comic book artist Leonard Kirk. (who now lives in Canada). Among his credits are works for DC (e.g. "Aquaman", "Batman", "Supergirl") and Marvel (e.g. "Amazing Fantasy", "Ultragirl", etc.).
I'd met Kirk at a Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) comic book convention, in the Fall of 1993 (around the time I was living in Reading, PA). Having shown him the various 'funny animal' characters I'd collected in my "BBS", he was more than willing to add a contribution of his own in it...
Supposedly, 'Racky Racoon' (with one 'C') was an anthropomorphic bionic raccoon, who was part of a proposed comic anthology - which, sadly, never materialized... but he'd certainly give 'Rocket Raccoon' a run for his money! I hope to show off his sketch, at a later date, after I 'friend' Leonard Kirk m Facebook...
