The youngest of my many new birds this year, a buff silkie.
My poultry purchases range from March to just a week ago when I got this little guy, who will be my last chick for the year unless something amazing crosses my path.
I really hope this one is a hen ;A; the other 3 buff chicks have black stripes on their wings and this one is solid and I want solid, it also has THEE FLUFFIEST FEET EVER.
I won't know for like at least 2 months if it is a girl or a boy ;3;
PS it kept falling asleep in my hand while trying to take pics!!!
PSS if you live in the Sacramento area and have colorful silkies, sizzles or frizzles available let me know D: there are still so many colors of silkies I am looking for, I also would not mind some curly feathers <3

I've had one, and the mother instinct is so strong that they will pout if you give them nothing to sit on and mother. And they stay broody until they have chicks. X3 They don't ever give up until there's puff balls! And then when their 'babies' are grown they still try to mother them. It's really funny to watch when their babies are larger birds. XD
Awe~ all I have are some ducks eggs and a few newly hatched chicks! ((I found 2 baby raccoons on my deck though. Their mom had left them and they didn't have teeth yet. My best hope was that the mom would come back, so I made sure they didn't run off and I fed them some strawberries, luckily the mom came back last night.)) But, I honestly don't know how the chicks are doing or the ducks because one of my friends offered to take over looking after them while I'm out of town.
Idk why but she isn't really sending me any news about them XD

Look, lighten up okay? Do you think I'm being serious about eating someone's pet. I too had a pet chicken, it was an AMAZING pet. It was actually someone else's chicken but it would visit my house each day to feed on the bugs, but it got used to me and follow me around, and it kept me company in a really lonely country. This is Uganda by the way, where Chickens are considered quite valuable and useful for their bug eating abilities like cockroaches, poisonous snake hatch-lings. It ended up disappearing over Christmas, I didn't have to be imaginative to know what happened to it, since the Ugandan's celebrate Christmas like we do.
I consider this finished, so please don't bother replying. Sorry for the offense.
