Tragedy

This morning my father let our boston terrier outside to potty at 4am and he never came back. We got Buzz as a puppy when I was just in middle school, he would have been thirteen this December. We spent hours searching for him in every place we could think of. We came in to take a break and make some calls, but short after I decided to resume the search on my own. Across from our yard is a large overgrown field with grass about thigh high. I as walking along the edge of this field when I noticed a small fairly fresh path cutting into the field just across from our yard. It wasn't long following this path before I came across what very little remained of our sweet boston terrier, not even enough to bury. We have coyotes in our area and it was obvious from flat areas of grass in the field that they spent a lot of time over there, watching the house and our dog. My dad and I looked as best we could but had no luck finding any thing else. Although I would like the deny that the remnants we found in the field belonged to our dog I know it's the only logical conclusion when you add up all the factors. I know he was at the end of his life, but I never thought we would lose him like this. With that in mind, to all those with small dogs who live in even semi rural areas: WATCH OUT FOR COYOTES AND KEEP YOUR FURRY FRIEND CLOSE! He was a part of my family and will be so sorely missed. Rest in piece my sweet puppy.
