Here is a pic of me at the medieval fair in front of my in-law's booth, where we were selling some metalwork. I had to crop it because my husband accidentally got his finger in the frame while taking it. We always dress up, have fun, and harass fellow vendors as well as patrons.
My outfit is kind of put together from bits and pieces I've collected over the years. My belt and bracers are from Eldrich Armor, I can't remember where I got my hat, the burgundy shirt is actually a dress I got at Hot Topic (as well as the choker).

woot I love medeival/ren faires I used to run demos for a boffer at one and did some work as an ambiance person one year.
I'm quite sad that there hasnt been one locally for a few years now.
The belt is nice....I hear Edrich does some good job I've been wanting to save up to buy something from them for a wehile now, but I've had school payments and such.
what kind of metalwork were you guys selling anyways?

My husband does decorative metalwork like these:

But since he used to be a performer as well, he has made swords, axes, maces, flails, shields, etc that are all combat ready. I would take any weapon he has given me and be willing to use it in a real situation (Dawn of the Dead happens, we'd be ready ). His background as a metal machinist helps out a lot, too.

A lot o them that are temporary tend to look the same (tent cities almost), but if you get to go to the big ones like TRF, Scarborough, Colorado, Kansas City... they have some BEAUTIFUL permanent buildings. TRF has a list field overlooking a pond that's surrounded by hundreds of stone benches and bordered with an archway that is gorgeous (especially early in the morning when you can still see the mist rising from the pond). *sigh* Wish I had the time to go this year.
