A Modern Touch - Torakhan & Prys (IN COLOR!)
A simply covered version of http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1669975
Again, TK and Prys from The Temple of Divinity in a more modern setting together. Maybe I'll play with this more, but for now it gets the point across (still no input from the ebon tomcat though.)
I had some real difficulty with Torakhan's hips and thighs. The anatomy was really difficult there--each time I tried to fix it, his feet got lower than Prys' and that didn't look right (and I wasn't going to cheat by putting the tomcat on a platform or something.) Eventually I think I got it to look about right. I've got issues with arms and such still, but oh, well.
Any other comments or suggestions about the piece? FEEL FREE TO SPEAK UP! Useful critique is ALWAYS appreciated!
Prys is property of his owner.
Torakhan and the image are mine. :D

I think you have always captured Prys perfectly, and this is no exception! I like the choice of clothing; it suits him well - stylish, simple, and relaxed. In the past few months, I've been trying to make a modern description of him, but have been struggling to come up with what he'd wear.
I also like cigarette. I've always seen him as a casual smoker, and even though he wouldn't prefer cigarettes (because of the chemicals and such put in them), he'd smoke them when with others look cooler.
I agree with NightBunny. TK's body should be longer while Prys is more lanky.
p.s. I'm having a hard time deciding which colored version of Prys I like more (blue-black or black-black)...

I'm glad I could do you proud then. :D
I thought about some sort of net shirt, but that was a bit overdone. He doesn't seem the type to wear rainbow-necklaces either. ^.^ And, yeah.. the cigarette just fit him... stylish and cool. Maybe they're herbal or something? I don't see TK smoking though and putting up with Prys' smoking reluctantly.
^.^ I know Prys is a black cat. 'Course, coloring black is often difficult. If I go too dark you can't tell what parts are where, but if I go too light it looks like an ash-gray. Maybe someday I'll go black-black with more detail and have less blue or red hues.

I don't think Prys would go for a net shirt, and he's like me when it comes to accessories - keep it light and simple. He'd also most likely be willing to pay for expensive herbal cigarettes, and would rarely - if ever - smoke inside. Well, he wouldn't smoke inside his own house because he'd want it neat and very clean.
That's why I can't decide which I like better. The black-black is more 'realistic', but doesn't always work when rendering him in art. (Note: I was referring to the black-black version in your archive.) I used to have that problem back in high school when I would draw characters wearing all black. They usually ended up looking like they were either wearing clothes that were all connected or faded/dirty.

I know it's a bit of a running joke among artists who do commissions:
"I want you to draw my character for me... She's a dark-elf with red eyes, black hair wearing a black leather jacket and black jeans and black boots, riding a black motorcycle at night..."
...
"... here's two red dots on a black piece of paper. That'll be $50."
Oh, and I'll make the change to the eyes. ^.^
