American Bobcat Skull w/ Display Plaque, FS

This excellent bobcat skull (Lynx rufus) is a naturally deceased salvage from Missouri. Cause of death was a (likely malignant) tumor, as per my own discovery during dissection of the thawed skull.
The skull has been beetle-cleaned, degreased, sterilized, whitened and dried using enviromentally safe methods. It was NOT bleached or boiled. The jaw has been drilled and wired so it opens and closes in a natural motion, and the skull was finished with a matte acrylic sealant. The teeth were given a lightly glossy finish.
The skull is nearly perfect with no missing teeth. One upper canine has a tiny chipped tip which is visible in one of the photos. Inside one of the orbital (eye) sockets was a very small hole that was cause by the mentioned tumor; I patched this hole with matching white putty. The hole was in the inner corner of the zygomatic arch and is pretty much invisible now. I can offer a photo showing the repaired hole for anyone who wants a closer look.
The skull has intact undamaged nasal turbinates and measures a hair under 5 inches crown to nose.
A black display plaque is included with the order. I will hand-paint the species name on the plaque for no extra charge in either gold, silver, red or white - choose the common name (American Bobcat) or latin name (Lynx rufus) and note your color choice and name choice in your order. The plaque is 6 1/2 inches by 5 inches.
This skull is intended as an educational specimen for collection, classroom use, etc. It also makes an interesting pen holder. :p
It will be shipped priority with insurance. All wildlife laws apply. USA sales only. You will receive care instructions and a fact sheet on the American Bobcat with your order.
Available below. No Etsy? Note me for a private sale if you prefer.
