Sheepish. Dress-Hater. Not Annie: True Facts About Lucy
What true facts are there about the one Lucile Celestine Sylvianne Durant McDonald? Well, aside from the fact that, give or take seven or eight years, her name will take up three lines of the newspaper's high school graduate announcements, there are a handful. Lucy McDonald is 10-years-old, and the elder of McDonald's two adopted daughters. She is half-Fae, and from that heritage she has (at present) received a few things: Faintly pointed ears (usually hidden under a mop of hair) and lovely, unnaturally purple eyes; a severely adverse reactions to iron - which, combined to a very bad experience with the New Orleans S3RA (Supernatural Response, Research, and Relations Agency) division after her biological mother's death - has left her with burn-like scars on her left hand, arm and back and a severe fear of police-types; and lastly (at least, that she or her family are aware of), she's inherited some dietary issues with dairy that, while not even remotely close to harmful, leaves everyone within a block regretting it when she eats mozzarella. And for the last tidbit of factoids on public record, while Miss Lucy is outwardly bashful, easily flusterable, and most decidedly a Daddy's girl, Lucile is in fact the prank master general, and is at this time is under eight consecutive groundings for the mischief she's been caught at.
Annnd here we have Lucy McDonald everybody! My god she is adorable, and I love how she turned out. She is adorable, and I owe it to
KawaiiJumi. She's not working on art now until after June 17th, but you can still get on her waiting list if you like her style...
Also, my boyfriend and I inadvertently had a conversation that made me blink and go "FUCK she does look a little like the Boondocks girl." And then again we went "FUCK she's an orphan with enormous hair someone's going to compare her to Annie." I hadn't even thought of the TV show Boondocks while I was working on Lucile, and I came up with her a couple of years before I knew the Annie remake was going to be a thing. So it was kind of just a "Goddamnit coincidents" moment all around. Still, I loves Lucy. She is adorable, she is mine (and part of my M.E.A. project, obviously), I'm not changing a damn thing about her, and oh, the adventures she will have in the future... That poor, poor kid. >:D
