Madmen-Asylum longest night 13 Triskaidekamania/phobia
And with this work I declare officially closed my series of inspiration works for Madmen-Asylum contest The Longest Night. Phew! Thank you for your patience.
In this work I show the two sides od the same coin, an obsession about the number 13. I use my OC Karnak's twins, Axelica (humanized) and Gabriel (practically the same). In their normal universe they both are half yautjas and half humans, but Axelica is the only one who looks like a pure blood yautja. They look very similar to their dad. XD
I thought they would be perfect because they are twins and they are bonded with the fate red thread, and even if they are very different they are like one soul in two bodies.
Thirteen O’clock: Triskaidekamania / Triskaidekaphobia
First coined in 1910 by Isador Coriat, “Triskaidekaphobia” is the intense fear of the number 13. Conversely, “Triskaidekamania” is the obsession of the number 13. They usually go hand in hand, like two sides of the same coin. The number 13 has long had specific and sometimes ominous meanings throughout the ancient world. Christian traditions believe that the twelve disciples and Jesus forms 13 people at the table. Similarly, Loki was the 13th god of the Norse pantheon and was the 13th guest to arrive at the god Balder’s funeral. The Persians also believed that the 13th day of the month was unlucky and left their houses to avoid bad luck.
On the other hand, some people believe the number 13 to be a very lucky number instead. The number 13 was considered lucky in Italy and it was traditionally a good omen to sit 13 at a table. The Colgate University also considers 13 its luckiest number because it was said to have founded by 13 men with $13 dollars and 13 prayers. A number of sports personalities also deliberately choose the number 13 as their squad number.
