Quite the opposite. No magic was used yet, not to mention the short one doesn't possess any either. The effects were meant to show movement and power flow of sheer strenght. No his arm isn't dislocated either... though... that is not a bad idea...

Ouch, I dont know what hurt more, the massive punch to what seems the pit of the gut, or his left arm twisting around like that, loving the the page, really brings to life the fight
