TBH I'm not all that much into Marvel movies either. Nothing against them, I've just never really been a fan of the comics, or comics in general, and thus aren't enthusiastic to see the movies. Don't get me wrong, I do have fun when I go see them with friends, but I'd likely never go and see one on my own.
But yeah, Rocket Raccoon was an exception. He's like mandatory "you must watch this if you're a furry" material, so GOTG was really the only Marvel movie I was actively looking forward to seeing. X3

I never got into traditional comic books. As a kid, I read X-men, Sonic the Hedgehog and (whenever I could sneak them out) copies of Heavy Metal. But traditional superheroes like Batman and Superman just never interested me. I went more for science fiction at the time.
Well, it does make it a bit more realistic! ;p
I have to wonder if they'll poke fun at any classic theme park tropes, like "literally 90% of the park is a gift shop", 4 hour lines for 5 minute attractions, "pay to cut in line" services, rides constantly breaking down, stupid shows and parades, etc. :)
Theme parks are basically just a way to sell crap anyways!

Haha, guess Apple didn't fit well with their design! *crickets*
They got one thing right, such aggressive in the face marketing techniques are a part of our world. Lot's of things now have a main sponsor like this.
I guess it may be a your usual youtube-ad level of annoyance. And maybe a few dinos will be named "Galaxy S5", "Galaxy Tab" XD
Hahah, I wonder if there will be any non-cliche situations with cell-phones, like there's always reception or no battery will run flat after a day in the jungle!

I'm trying hard to be optimistic, but I keep seeing and hearing things that put me ill at ease.
I'm just so worried this is going to be another JJ Abrams Star Trek, or Transformers, where it's all effects and glamor and "hit actors" but a serious lack of substance.
I worry that the movie will be "entertaining", but forgettable.

If I may... Um, I'll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you're using here, it didn't require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now *bangs on the table*you're selling it.
Thats not a trailer. its a featurette made by Samsung to show in Best Buys.
Samsung is promoting this movie, nothing wrong with that. if you stop in best buy and watch that on the tv, and put on their Jurassic World head gear for virtual reality. you get a free back of Jurassic World cards and a replica broucher from the movie.

Yeah, it turns out my fears for a movie riddled with Samsung promos were groundless. Instead, we got a two-hour Mercedes commercial.
The point where one of the characters comments: "Hey, want to see something cool?" and then it immediately cuts to a Mercedes vehicle was particularly tasteless.
