To be honest, I kinda liked her tame, upbeat personality more - it was somewhat original for a species, and there was also more potential freedom to expand the character traits. In truth, there are too many "Spooky-scary-violent-undead-psychopatic" chars, all with silly "intimidating" one-liners and all that stuff, and probably every second character from exotic species (like arachne, bats, etc.) is a some kind of murderer/demon/batshit insane/all of the above. So, in my opinion, you're just kinda "killed" a diverse and potentially interesting character, and replaced it with an another walking cliche. Not my right to complain, of course, but I find the previous version a little bit better, so yeah, just wanted to say (at least, she didn't became a porn char or something)
Huh, very interesting. It's nice to hear other people's opinions on stuff like this. If I'd known this before, I'd probably wouldn't have changed her character so drastically. Honestly, I took inspiration for a lot of her changes from characters that I'm fond of from video games, notably Faust from Guilty Gear, Ms. Fortune from Skullgirls, and Toko Fukawa from DanganRonpa. I wasn't super aware that horror was common cliché on FA, although I guess I walked right into one. Perhaps a compromise can be made where she somehow retains traits of both versions of her and becomes a better character.

Well, I think that Faust is actually a pretty good inspiration for Phoebe from the both sides. He's insane and agressive, yet kinda caring and heroic outside the battle; he deals with enemies in a very brutal fashion, but doesn't pick easy targets out of spite or frustration, and his intentions are the best (after all, he wants to heal all the people who need help, and also atone for his villainous past). Faust is one of the best examples of Chaotic Good I can think of, and in my opinion, that would be an excellent basis for Phoebe Why not to create a somewhat nightmarish and violent, yet (relatively) friendly and passionate character? There are after all a lot of opportunities to play on eccentricity and unpredictability, while subtly highlighting her benevolent and friendly side. As i said, it's only my opinion, so I hope that I said something useful c:
I decided to take your advice and base her more heavily off Faust, ditching the Fukawa elements, and I think she's benefited greatly from it. There's plenty of room to have the horror elements show up without her actually being murderous or evil, as you said. Thank you for the advice! I appreciate it quite a bit!
