Drawing hands (next to drawing various other parts of the body), kicks my a** at times too.
All I can say is just keep practicing. After all, drawing is pretty much a form of practice.
I like your usage of limited colors, and your usage of lighting, shading, and shadows is pleasant on my eyes.
