The fool is nearing the end of her journey. When she met death, the sun was rising, and now, as she walks through the mountains, the sun streaks the sky with its last glimmering shafts of light. She is surprised to come upon the decrepit remains of a temple...within, a man is praying at the foot of a statue. He is whispering and weeping, uttering words of love, devotion and finally, words of parting.
He stands and turns to address the fool. "She was my love, my everything, but I have to let her go. I promised, once that I would never be apart from her. The temple has fallen away, and still I remain. I will never move on should I stay, but I will never return, should I go."
The fool sees the man's dilemma and tears fill her eyes. There are so many things in her life that she had never let go of. All those weights came to bear on her and as the man passes her by, she feels them bring her to her knees. Rolling tears streak her face and she feels all her fears and pain, resentment and anger, all the things buried within her fall away. Finally, and painfully she raises her head to feel the warmth of a hand helping her up.
It is the statue maiden come to life!
"You have laid your burdens to rest. You have come to terms with your life. Stand and take the last steps of your journey..."
And in the distance the sound of a horn echoes from the mountain tops. The fool rises, turns, and walks away.
Coming to terms with your past, acceptance of mistakes, big changes, closing off the past to walk into the future
OMG!!!!!! I'm finished! This is it! This is the last of the major Arcana! I'm done with it finally! It only took 10 months. What an awesome project. I can't say enough about it. I've learned so much about myself and my art doing this. I hope that each of you has enjoyed the set as much as I did.
I'm thinking about making a set of the major arcana for myself, but I doubt that I'll be offering them to the public unless someone figures out a way to make them affordable and of a decent quality. As it is, I doubt anyone would want just the Major Arcana, but I am so glad to have gotten all the way through the set.
I'll probably go back and fix up the other cards and standardize them before I get them put onto cardstock (there were some border changes way back about 7 or 8 cards ago). I'll take a picture of them when I get them printed out. Who knows, maybe I'll sell 'em on furbid or something if I've got enough material left over.
