Oh that's interesting. You call it a "stamp" over yonder. Guess that makes sense. Over here we call it a lino plate, fair dinkum and put anotha snag on tha barbie mate.
Nice variation of the mark using large blocks of ink for deep recesses or hard shadows to smaller flecks of ink to indicate a ground. It's also interesting to see the indication of manes are shown through the negatives spaces encroaching on the segments of ink.
Thanks for posting the tumblr link and showing us the lino plate/ stamp itself too. Have you tried printing multiple colours with different layered stamps for the same artwork? Any plans on making other prints? Etching, drypoint or collagraph maybe?

I only call it a "stamp" because that is what I intended it to be. I'm pretty sure they call them lino / linoleum plates here too. ^.^
Not sure if I'll make more because this took longer than I anticipated and I will have to find some more linoleum. If I ever end up at the dealers den at a convention then perhaps I'll have to do a lino print run as a perk, I guess! ^.^ Ideas, ideas.... XD I believe I have a friend with a proper press who may allow me to use it if I need to run a lot of stuff.
Have you ever given it much of a go?

Oh of course, how silly of me. :P
Oh great! If you ever are willing and able to make more lino prints I would very much like to see. Your friend is very generous to offer you use of their press too. Very fortunate.
Yes, I majored printmaking along with painting in a course I did a couple of years ago but I just don't think print making is for me.
