How I attached my Scizor gijinka wings to my Worbla chest plate. They held up quite well all weekend and even survived being in a forest, so I’ll call that a win! Please feel free to ask questions, and if you use this method for your own cosplay, I’d love to see the results!! Last photo taken by Kaminsky Kandids Photography.

1) Figure out where you want to place the flag pole holder, heat up Worbla base and press holder into the soft plastic. Wait till it’s cool before you continue. It should be stuck to the Worbla but not very sturdy.
2) Start attaching small strips of Worbla over the flag pole, attaching it to the chest plate base. Secure each piece firmly before adding more holders. Note: For the bottom holders I had to attach them at an angle so the wings wouldn’t hit my legs. To do this I attached them sticking out at about 30 degrees and stuffed scrap Worbla into the gap between the holder and the chest plate.
3) Continue adding strips of Worbla. You’ll smooth out the seams later.
4) Attach more flag pole holders, making sure to have some Worbla strips that are long enough to cover both top and bottom holders (if you have two sets).
5) All four holders are in place now, but the Worbla doesn’t look that great yet, so it’s onto step 6!
6) It’s dremmeling time! This is time consuming, but will make things look so much better in the long run! (Make sure to wear safety equipment such as goggles, ear plugs and a mask.)
7) All the rough edges dremmeled down. After this, I washed off the Worbla dust and reheated the Worbla to smooth any remaining bumps down by hand.
8) Base coat the whole piece with wood glue except the holder themselves. Spray paint the whole piece (including holders). Detail paint with acrylics. Seal with a top coat.
