ahh but truth be told, I cheated with those textures, I did some post production work. They wont look nearly this good in an animation.

Definitely the colorscheme in combination with the texture. But also the broad shape and the bulky appearance. Most feet you created are a tiny bit too flat for my taste. But these are not. The part above the arch is thick. These feet are not only broad but also high.
