Commission for my dear friend,
Sugarsweet
When we first met, she compared my style with a beloved creature from her childhood, the Banderbear (ref: http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net.....20090319201005 ). She stated that if she could ever commission me, she would see me draw one of these delightful beasties. And wouldn't you know it, that day has come.
I went a little larger with the res on this submission, just so as to capture some of those extra little details. Specifically the eyes, which "view the world larger than it actually is." I love quotes like that. Oh, and generally, these giants are gentle. Shy and mild-tempered. BUT, let's be real, I had to go a wee bit more wicked with it.
People often ask and assume who my artistic influences are. I am always interested in learning who other people think I've been influenced by in my style. In the case of the Banderbear and other creations of his world, until I met Sugarsweet, I was unaware of their existence. However, I fell in love with the style, and could see where the similarities might be drawn.
Anyway, enjoy!
