Ruffio is the Awsago of his people, something akin to a shaman. He's in charge of healing, keeping lore, and teaching the young. His master only handed him the mantle a few years ago, and hes still using his master's old focus, an amber topped walking stick. Soon he will have to choose an apprentice and make his own focus to claim the mantle for himself.

All members of the Vulgath paint their fur after puberty in order to identify each other by their function in the tribal mechanism. Awsago are the only members of the tribe permitted to paint their fur with shades of purple.

Bearing a resemblance to a humanoid hybrid of Alpine Ibex and African Lion, the Vulgath are lithe, athletic, and tall in stature. Males begin growing their horns at ten and develop a new ridge with each new year of growth. If they do not break a horn in their lifetime, they can bear an impressive set by the end of their days. Females only grow horns for a short time, and have subtle ridges that can go completely unnoticed at times.
