I do think she looks better with a less equine head.
Something is up with my scanner... either that or something in-between during the scanning process. That portion of difference in the graphite wash on the left (above her extended foot) is not supposed to be there. I normally would erase this when i combine the two scans of the image (have to scan in halves) but for some reason the rightmost portions of the scans had funny vertical lines running down them. On the top it's not really noticeable, since that's empty space, but in the middle (which is the right side of the left-half from a scanning point of view) it definitely was problematic, so i had to leave the blurry margin of the right half's left side a bit more than i would have liked to cover the greater woe...
I'll have to run some tests and see if it is actually a scanner problem. I know they don't last forever... Who knows, maybe when i reboot everything will be fine.
...
Anyway, you'll be seeing more of these creatures. If i didn't already have a 'fursona' ...i would probably be one myself. I like them a lot.

Well, there's no water involved (though it might be fun to experiment with that... water mixed with powdered graphite perhaps?) i just said 'wash' for lack of a better term. I guess if it was digital it would be a gradient-filled area.
Hey wait, you're making a joke aren't you :D *a bit slow*

No I'm not joking actually :D
Your graphite stuff is good, but how about looking into ink washes? Hard to fix if you fuck up, but it's permanent and bold and awesome. I guess I have a knack for it, because I understand watercolor... but I think you may want to try that some day if you have not already.

Do eeeeet
Everyone has their own personal mix, too. I use water, but i know other people who use actual solvents.
I like to build up shading with ink wash, and then apply watercolor or colored pencils or somesuch for a touch of flavor. (latest experiment here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1439855/ )

Normally their pupils are pretty big, almost round... but rather than 'irising' like ours, they sort of pinch closed from the top and bottom and form that kind of infinity-shape.
The Agharti have pretty good night vision, as they live in near-darkness, in caves where the only light comes from phosphorescent and bioluminescent fungus and such. But here, since i for some reason put clouds and sky in the background, i decided she must be looking out of a cave-mouth, a place which would seem quite bright to her.

utterly beautiful and unique design. I really love this finished work, from your usual knack at anatomy and smooth shading, to the creatures piercings, and subtle changes in the body from normal species that make her so unique! I definitely like the change to the head too, really helps with the flow of her look for some reason ;D
I am absolutely in love with those ears! O__O And I think I prefer the slightly less equine muzzle over the first concept as well. Meep. Some of the piercings/ ornaments look rather painful to a whuzz like me, but I really love the overall effect of the jewelry and the bits of strings and cloth that ornament .. her? ^^;
Is there any chance to see this one being coloured?

Good to see some new ungulate races and a subterranean ungualte race is especially unique. Love the tail and body piercings. The ear ornaments are also a neat design. Impressive graphite work. It's good to see such crisp and clean lines. I tend to like your black and white pieces the most. ^_^
