Mu is the main Heroine of a story I've been working on for a while now, though only so far in because I've got a few projects I'm working on.
Downtown Girls is a story that focuses on Mu, her brother Dodge, a new friend Aleesa, and Aleesa's sister Dahna and the friendship that starts out very forced but quickly becomes something that they all greatly treasure.
The story takes place in a world/city where being a purebred will get you in to the upper echelon without much trouble but mixed species will keep you consistently in the working class. No higher than the middle of the middle class itself, and that is in special circumstances. Mu is the daughter of owners and header researchers of the biggest renowned pharmaceutical company, the very epicenter of the city where the story focuses. She has never seen eye to eye with her folks, especially at the birth of her brother. There was a point where she didn't even want anything to do with being the heir of the company. At the birth of her brother, there was an event that caused her to accept the title as being an heir.
Her mentor and friend of the parents is Jack. A caretaker of the city's Zen Garden, sensei at a dojo, in addition to various other tasks that he takes care of for the city. Though the age difference is quite large, Mu never leaves him alone and is set to have him as her husband, much to his dismay. She always feels that she owes him her life.
One day she comes across Aleesa while shopping and forces her in to accompanying her in the shopping manner, not giving the poor girl a chance to react and instead, just going along while being extremely dumbfounded. In due time, they find out that they are going to start attending the next school year together. For the time being she hides her extensive wealth, lies about where she lives, and lies about her family so Aleesa won't be put off by her and to try and get a true friend. She comes to find out that lying, as warned by Jack, will only get her in trouble.
Eh, not the best synopsis I've written, but then again, I have issues writing synopsis themselves, but at least it's a little insight. I hope the story is viewed as being better. XD
