I was on my lunch break,
when out the corner of my eye I saw
a firefly,
drifting lazily outside the window.
I wanted to leap from my seat,
run outside, and dance with that
luminous soul,
buzzing and blinking off into the night.
But that firefly, that lovely little bug
was free for a lifetime
and I
free for the the next five minutes
