Another shot showing the back of the mouth, the helmet halo is brand new the old one being a tad broken.My idea to keep the mouth open for vision is 2 fold 1 using some weight (possibly metal washers or nuts) attached to a coat hanger wire inserted into the small area between the fabric and foam on the lower jaw and 2. using 2 small pieces of PVC pipe attached tot he rearmost corner of the jaw where it can prop open the very far back.
