They announced in November that this would be the start of a new trilogy, and since the movie sales seem to be doing phenomenally they probably have the funds to kickstart the second installment right away.

I really, really want to see Blue again in some sequel. Like maybe an epic Owen has to go back to the island for some reason and they get attacked by raptors, until its turns out Blue has taken over as alpha to the wild raptors on the island and is just like 'Yo, guys, leave my alpha alone!'
