Awesome perspective, and not to mention texture to the maw.
I just saw the movie myself and I think the Indominus was to most badass predator in the whole franchise, definitely tops the raptors in the franchise. They definitely brought out the Khan of the JP franchise with this guy (sorry, I'm kind of a Star Trek nerd XD).

It's mostly a model limitation, even if the lighting was right it'd just slope downward behind the tongue *cries*
Most peeps aren't gonna be lookin there, so it's not really a good use of their time xD
This is prolly the best example from the movie http://www.jurassicworld.org/news/u.....reenshot05.JPG

Yeah, you're probably right. Though I do hope that they may have modeled just a bit into the throat XD Just considering how many roars and mawshots there are in the movie, I'm sure the actual models are more detailed than what we got to see with the dark lighting at least.
It may be possible that the lightning not shining enough in the maws/throats was intended due to some model limitations or nothing past the mouth modeled in there so the viewed doesn't get to see that indeed there isn't much past the back of the tongue, a shame but it kind of makes sense unless there is a scene taking place at the throat inside which would require something extra modeled, detailed, etc.
Yeah usually when there's a close-up like that, they use a different model entirely that was made specifically for that close up, while the normal model just has a blocked off throat to save on time xD
They did a pretty good midground with Smaug's mouth though http://www.cap-that.com/hobbit/02/i.....smaug_4984.jpg
With it being open enough to show a throat, but being walled off a little bit past the opening

Holy shit dude... You never cease to amaze me. Ugh you can almost smell that dinobreath <3
This is the kind of picture I'm always thrilled to see in my inbox! I was SOOOOO hoping you might draw something like this <3 I can't wait to try my own hand at an indominus maw. She deserves that kind of attention.

By the way, I just want to add that I love your attention to realism and anatomical accuracy. Particularly with the glotis, and the soft palate. That and just the general maw color scheme looks appropriately real and "gross" XD The bloody spots in the teeth, the sublte transitional coloring in the flesh with hints of yellows and purples. Just want you to know that your attention to detail is definitely noticed and appreciated =D
Hnnnn thank you again! I actually had a lot of fun texturing this one xD
My favorite part is drawin veins on the internals parts, yusss
A lot of it was based off gator mouth, since they obviously used that as a reference, too, especially with the teeth
So I mixed gator mouth with some of the dino mouths they've shown in the other movies http://i.imgur.com/twLwGUV.png
MUCH FUN I LOVE MAKIN THINGS MAKE SENSE

And it worked perfectly! I have a few things to learn about this sort of stuff =D Definitely want to make my future mawshots and vore pictures have the same kind of realistic impact <3
I gotta say that the way you do linework (and the lack of it in some places) really interests me too. I just really enjoy your style and use of lines a lot =D

Lines are my favorite part! Most of the time I don't actually enjoy coloring xD
And oooh I'd love to see your take on some accurate maws! Like a hyena or somethin, hnnnng
Though it is hard to find good references for most animals, a lot of the time you have to kind of piece it together from a bunch of different pics

I agree on watching Jurassic World was great but so far the lighting on a maw shot was good on that one dino that lives in the water that was good when he eats the shark and thats it i agree with what others were saying that the maw shot for the monster dino and some others were too dark
Wow Yenafluff. I think this is actually the best picture I've ever seen you produce. The menace here is palpable and to mirror everyone else, you've done a freaking amazing job here. I'm kinda tempted to throw the idea of MKIII maw in a similar look to this as a comm or something so you can play around with biomechanical maws and throats with whirry grindy bits inside!

No special brush or anything! It's all done with the same brush, for shading and texturing I use a lower opacity soft edged brush, and for lines/shines I use a small hard edged one, that's about it, really!
It's more about knowing the texture and how it'd interact with stuffs like water and all that, just research and practice! Cannot stress practice enough xD
