In any case, depth perception works by having two or more viewpoints, that are each slightly off-center, that your brain then uses to create a 3D image, allowing you to tell how far away something is based on those two differing images. With only one pupil in a cycloptic eye, they only have the one view to base distance on... thus no depth perception (which is also the case if you go blind in or lose one eye)
