An amazing commission from one of my best friends,

I wrote up a story for this amazing piece below, and this finally helped me getting back into my writing thankfully ^.^
I hope you all enjoy the story, and pay my friend's page a visit!
Tiran and Silver had decided to drop by their local video game store on their way back to their house. The pair had been living in an apartment as they were attending college together and they figured lizards stick together so they’d rented a room together. Tiran was lucky enough that today was his payday so the pair figured they’d grab a cheap game and play it through the night since most of their classes were done. Going inside the pair was shocked though to see for the most part the store had been packed up as there were large “Going out of business” signs around the place. Tiran saw the store’s owner, a fox named Damien, walking around the store with his usual smile on his face as he packed up some boxes. “Damien, what’s going on?!” Tiran asked, snaking his way over to the store owner.
Damien grinned wide as he turned to face the two young reptiles, they’d been going to the store since they were kids. Damien was in his fourties but he acted like he was fifteen a lot with how he loved video games and would chat about them forever if he could. Though even so he had acted like a parent to the two a lot as he was wiser than he appeared so the pair was saddened to see his game shop in such a state. “Hey boys, I was hoping to see you guys before I left.”
Silver looked around the room distraughtly as he felt his heart break a bit but the pain was alleviated a bit as Damien set his paw on his shoulder warmly. “Don’t worry, boys. The whole ‘going out of business’ sign is kinda a misnomer. I’m still the owner of this store, I’m just moving. I was looking for moving signs, but the guy at the store suggested these as they would bring in some good revenue before I closed up. Surprisingly it’s worked wonders. People have been coming in en masse to make sure I’m alright!” the fox laughed, the pair sighed in relief as he gave them a big grin. “Now that you two are here I can give you a gift I was saving up just for this moment...”
The pair grinned in excitement as he walked into his backroom where the pair knew he kept a lot of his prized stock that he only showed to his most loyal customers who he knew would take care of the merchandise. Walking out the fox handed them a wii u game that neither of them had seen. It had Yoshis on the front of the case and for a moment they thought it was an early copy of wooly world, but there didn’t appear to be any name on the case. “What... is this?” Silver asked, holding up the case as Damien winked at them.
“Recently Nintendo let out this game in secret. Essentially it’s an open world game based around the mario world where you play as a Yoshi. They haven’t released it to the public as it’s essentially in beta testing right now, and I was lucky enough to received a copy. I was planning on giving it to you guys for a while now, but since I found out I was moving to another store in another city I figured I’d surprise you with this little tidbit.” Damien explained, smiling at the pair as they had tears well up in their eyes and give him a big hug.
The naga took the game in his hand and looked it over with a big grin on his face. “Damien, you’re so awesome. You know though that we’re going to be dropping by wherever you are...” Tiran said, giving their friend a nudge with his arm as the fox laughed.
“I didn’t expect any less, guys. Now I have to finish up here. As soon as I finish up with my move though I’ll be sending you guys a letter so you can find me! It’s been good seeing you both,” Damien said, giving them both a hug as they both sniffed quietly trying to get rid of their tears. “Be safe you two.” Damien said as they left, giving them both a pat on the back before letting them go on their way.
The pair had to wipe away a few more tears as they went on their way home. “Well let’s give this game a try.” Tiran said, trying to take their mind off of their sadness as Silver gave a weak smile and nodded. Though they could still see their friend it wouldn’t be quite the same as he’d always resided in that store...

They popped the game in as soon as they got home while Silver pulled on a pair of shorts Tiran snickered as he slithered over to the TV. “Great thing about not having legs, no worrying about pants,” he laughed, Silver gave him a small glare before laughing as his friend popped the game in. As Tiran turned to go back towards the couch to coil up there he didn’t notice an odd symbol appearing on the Wii U system. Settling down Silver walked into the room with some more relaxing shorts as he plopped down next to his friend and popped open a soda he’d grabbed on the way.
“Start it up!” Silver said, Tiran nodded with a big smile on his face as he hit the start button on the tablet. For a moment nothing happened as the screen went black causing both to raise a brow in confusion. “Is it broken?” Silver asked, Tiran shrugged before the symbol that had appeared on the Wii U glowed bright red revealing a bowser symbol shining there before the two screamed in panic as the TV grew larger and suddenly sucked them both in.
It was an odd sensation as they were picked up from their sitting positions and tossed into the television. The ride was relatively short as the pair felt themselves suddenly appearing in midair... and falling a few feet before landing on the ground. Silver was able to protect himself a bit from the fall by using his wings to hover a bit but for Tiran he wasn’t as lucky as he collapsed into a mass of coils on the ground. As Silver shook his head from the fall he saw his friend laying down unconscious. “Tiran, are you okay?!”
Running over to his friend he was relieved as Tiran slowly brought himself up as he wiggled in exhaustion. “W... what happened?” Tiran moaned, glancing around in confusion as Silver gave him a relieved hug.
“I dunno, but I guess we went through the TV,” Silver explained, Tiran slowly nodded as they realized they weren’t alone. In fact they were in the middle of a village of... “Yoshis?” Silver asked in shock, Tiran blinked and rubbed his eyes as if to rub away an illusion that couldn’t possibly be there.
“Welcome visitors!” one of the Yoshis said happily, they all appeared to be plain green Yoshis. They were very pleasant as they helped the pair into a hut to help them relax. “We’re glad to see that you’re okay! Welcome to the Mushroom Kingdom!” the lead Yoshi said, grinning happily as he handed them both delicious looking oranges.
The pair shared a shocked glance before taking bites of the fruit... and finding it to be wonderfully delicious. The orange fruit splashed with flavor as they bit into them and they found themselves unable to stop as they quickly finished off the fruit. All the while the Yoshi villager spoke to them. “We’re so glad to have visitors! It’s a sad thing though that you came when so much misfortune is happening to our small village... nonetheless we will treat you as the honored guests you are!” the Yoshi said, grinning happily as Tiran finished up his fruit and gazed at him with his head tilted.
“What do you mean?” the naga asked, Silver nodded in agreement with the question as he finished up his own orange.
The Yoshi sighed sadly as he leaned back in his comfortable seat and rubbed the back of his neck. “As of late some of our Yoshis have been disappearing. We’re not quite sure what’s happening, but we’re sending out more of our Yoshis today to see if they can find our missing friends. Until then though please don’t worry about it. Have fun, enjoy our food, we shall show you around tomorrow!”
Tiran gave Silver a questioning stare before the dragon just shrugged as they both gave the Yoshi a smile. “Thank you for letting us stay here. Though honestly we’re not quite sure how we got here in the first place.” Silver said, the Yoshi merely giggled as he smiled at them.
“Don’t worry, we’ve had other visitors from the other world that you come from. We have a way to return you to your home, but please enjoy your stay while you are here. We’re always glad to host guests!” the Yoshi said, the pair finally gave in and smiled as they were led to some rooms to sleep in for the night as the sun was already growing low in the sky when they had landed.
As the pair slipped away for the night they didn’t notice some shapes coming in from the edge of the village. They were dark in the night and as they approached the lead Yoshi he turned and gasped in shock. “My friends, you’re home! What took you so long?”
There was something odd with his friends though it was too dark to really make out what was wrong. “We were out gathering fruit and we lost track of time... why don’t you try a new fruit we found?”
“Well that’s wonderful! We have guests and we need to make a feast for them!” the lead Yoshi said, taking the oddly squeaky fruit in hand as he grinned at them.
“Yes, we know. We saw them falling... Master bowser has already informed us of their arrival,” the Yoshi explained just as the lead Yoshi had swallowed a bit of the fruit, he gulped in shock at the surprisingly bitter taste of the fruit.
“Wait... did you say... Master Bowser? Wha... what’s wrong with... oh....” the lead Yoshi’s voice petered out as the juice of the fruit grew sticky on his chin, the Yoshi’s eyes started to swirl with a gray color as a dark blue hue started to smear across his skin. “M... master bowser...” he droned, his thoughts being corrupted as the newcomers started to laugh in a nasty cackle as they started to visit some of the other Yoshi’s tents with fruit in hand...

Silver was the first up as Tiran slowly hissed in his sleep. The dragon stretched out his wings, arms, and legs as he hopped to his feet. The morning was quiet as the dragon slowly glanced around the small hut. He hadn’t gotten much of a look at the hut as it had been so dark when they had been heading off to sleep. For the most part it was rather simple; two beds, a small desk, and a small water spout. The dragon hadn’t been worrying as much as his naga friend about how to get home. He was amazed that they were there in the first place and he couldn’t wait to see the mario world!
There was a moan as Tiran slowly got up with a yawn and a stretch rubbing his eyes as he slowly got up. “Silver, you’re up already...” he yawned, Silver smiled and nodded as the naga gave a slow glance around. “Oh right... we’re here... I think I’m gonna go talk to the Yoshi leader... maybe he can get us home ASAP. I don’t really want to be here.” the naga admitted, looking nervous even as he let out another yawn.
“Don’t be so worried, Tiran! The Yoshis are really nice, and they’ve already offered to take us home whenever we want. Why don’t you just relax and have fun?” Silver urged, giving his friend a wide eyed and pleading look as Tiran moaned and rubbed his face.
The naga finally gave in and allowed his friend to enjoy the village for a bit longer though he had every intention to leave before night fell again. They left the hut to find the village was shockingly empty as they had been expecting a Yoshi village to be bustling. There were a few Yoshis scattered about though even they looked a bit concerned about the absence of Yoshis around. “There you are!” a voice shouted, they both turned to find themselves facing the Yoshi from yesterday.
As he approached Silver got a very odd feeling... he wasn’t quite sure what it was but there was something about the Yoshi’s eyes... “Good morning,” Tiran said, not seeming to notice the oddity himself. “Thanks for the beds yesterday.” he said, seeming to finally relax a bit as he let himself calm down.
Silver on the other hand was feeling a bit tense as the Yoshi approached them. Something about the Yoshi felt less kind like he was yesterday... his body expression, his arched brows, it felt a bit... crueler. “It’s no problem! Before we do anything today, I brought you some new fruit that we got in last night. Our missing friends returned, and they brought us a fantastic harvest of fruit... why don’t you follow me into my hut and you can have breakfast.”
The pair nodded as they followed behind though as Silver walked behind the Yoshi he gave a nervous glance around. For the most part most of the Yoshis seemed as normal as they had been prior, but a few of them seemed a bit odd just as the leader did. He didn’t get much more of a chance to think about it though as the door was closed behind him and Tiran as they walked into the room. The room was rather dark compared to the bright room that it had been yesterday. “Please eat.” the Yoshi said, gesturing to a pair of fruit on the table.
They looked to be small watermelons, save for an odd black coloring. “They look a bit... odd...” Tiran noted, picking up one nonetheless as he glanced it over.
“These are special watermelons picked in the nearby jungle. They’re a new plant and we gave them a try last night. They’re mind numbingly delicious!” the Yoshi said, grinning widely as Silver picked up the other fruit.
Tiran glanced it over just as his stomach let out a large growl. He usually liked meat a bit better but far be it from him to be a picky eater when he was hungry. He took a bite out of the watermelon as Silver took a smaller bite out of it. They both shuddered as they tasted an extremely bitter taste from the sweet looking fruit. It squeaked a bit as they withdrew their muzzles from the fruit. Inside of the black fruit was purple goo that bubbled a bit as it dripped from their muzzles. “E... euch...” Tiran gasped, his entire body suddenly felt very strange all of a sudden...
The juices leaking from his muzzle were becoming sticky as they stuck to his black muzzle and started to become a shiny substance on his muzzle. He tried to lick it off but as he did so it stuck to his tongue and started to color it a purple color with the consistency of rubber. “W... what’s happening to me?” he asked, his voice quiet as his eyes were starting to rotate with a red swirl.
The leader Yoshi snickered as his green skin and body started to radically shift. From the regular Yoshi he started to become a dark purple color as his eyes became a gray color and his teeth sharpened. His shoes morphed to reveal sharp clawed feet that stuck out from the now open toed shoes. “You’ve fallen for my Master Bowser’s trap! The leader knew that you would which is why he had some of the other Yoshis changed... truly Master Bowser chose a great leader for us...”
Tiran choked along with Silver who was also starting to change, though his was a bit more stark as the juices started forming red rubber over his gray scales. The squarish muzzle of the naga started to round out into the familiar shape of a Yoshi’s muzzle as Tiran gripped at his head. Already he felt odd... a deep sinister voice rumbled into his head as one of his hands pried away from his head and snatched up his fruit and forced him to take another bite of the terribly bitter fruit. “Obey! Obey! Obey! Lord Bowser is your master! Obey! Obey! Obey! You are his evil minion! Obey! Obey! Obey!”
The voice was so deep and resonating that Tiran staggered in dizziness as the red swirls in his eye grew faster in their repetition. Already his original form was being wiped from his mind as the voice spoke right into his thoughts and replaced his personality with a new darker one. The rubber traveled over the victims changing their regular bodies into rubberized Yoshi bodies as they were forced to bite more and more of their fruit.
A new savage and cruel personality was being placed into Tiran while Silver on the other hand felt a lazy grin forming on his face as he slowly sank back with the fruit in his hand. His cheeks grew a bit chubbier as the red rubber grow over them and his brow lowered in a dumb expression. He heard the same things as Tiran but for him he found himself being told to become a stupid dumb Yoshi that was subservient to his big boss, the new Yoshi that used to be Tiran.
“Such a wonderful change for you two to experience!” the Yoshi laughed, his grin was cruel now and his head had changed a bit. Now he was sporting a crazy looking mohawk that somehow fit his new cruel personality. Even his pale white stomach had changed into a more grimy looking grey color that fit his darker personality.
As Tiran’s muzzle finished becoming like a Yoshi’s already a cruel sharp grin was forming on his face as his mind was being corrupted. The rubber was spreading extremely fast across his body. His shirt shifted and changed into a purple vest that ripped along the middle as it rode up around his new rubber black shoulders. Purple spikes sprouted from the back of his head looking just as cruel as his personality was becoming.
Silver’s stomach slowly grew larger as the grey rubber spread over it revealing a much chubbier body as he looked up at Tiran with growing admiration for the changing Yoshi. His rubber formed up into a lazy mohawk that danged a bit in front of his eyes as the bright yellow hair sprouted out, with the tips becoming a shiny green as the rubber dangled with him grinning dumbly as he took another bite out of his black watermelon. A big bowser symbol had appeared on it and was glowing bright as the other Yoshi was laughing evilly now as the pair was changing.
Their saddles didn’t look like any saddles on any regular Yoshi’s, instead they tooked on a spiked almost shell like look to them. The tails that grew out whipped out with the rubber and two spikes grew on their tips. Tiran even found himself standing up with his new legs as he stretched them out as shoes formed on his feet. Though they didn’t cover his toes just as the other Yoshi’s, instead revealing the clawed feet that flexed and squeaked.
Finishing up his fruit with one last cruel bite Tiran growled happily as his eyes slowly changed back but this time his irises were a deep red color. Purple spiked collars formed around his throat and his wrists, shining with the rubber as he stretched out his arms and wiped away the purple juice from his maw. “Man, i feel great! Lord Bowser gave us such a good gift! Isn’t that right, Sop?”
Sop blinked a few times as he grinned dimly and took one last bite out of his fruit wiping the juices off onto his blue jean vest. Standing up he wobbled as his chubby belly almost made him fall over. “Duhhh... yeah, Tude!” he said slowly, his voice was a bit deeper but slower. His thoughts were just as evil as Tude’s even if he was a bit slower, but that’s why Tude was the boss out of the two of them!
The new Yoshis stretched out their limbs as the other brainwashed Yoshi gave them both a pat on the shoulder. Tude grinned just as his chest glowed for a second and a angry looking black star appeared on his chest. Sop giggled as his belly giggled and a black star appeared there too. Unlike the other Yoshi without one they had a feeling they were a bit more powerful than him. “You’re commanders Tude and Sop!” the Yoshi said, giving them a grin and bowing before them.
“You got that right!” Tude snickered, his body squeaking as the light glinted off of his now rubber skin. “Now do we have everyone in this town changed yet?”
“Not yet, sir... we got a few. Master Bowser commanded us to wait for your arival to change everyone. After all, the leader will be coming shortly,” the Yoshi said, snickering as Tude grinned.
“Of course... Sop, come on!” he said, walking towards the door as Sop stuck his tongue out happily.
“Sure, boss! Give me a sec...” the Yoshi said, he reached out and snagged a few regular fruit off of the table and with his touch they glowed with a bowser symbol before becoming blackened rubber fruit. He followed along as the other Yoshi looked on in shock. He tried picking up a fruit to see if he could do the same... but there was no change to the fruit as he looked back at them in shock.
Upon leaving the hut the pair already saw that the town was in a panic as rubber Yoshis walked around forcing some of the rubber fruit into the mouths of villagers and changing them into more rubber Yoshis. A villager was sprinting towards them until he saw Tude and Sop and started to panic before falling to the ground. He yelled in fear as Tude snickered and set his foot on the Yoshi’s face. Somehow he knew about the special power granted to him, Sop had the power to make the rubber fruit, Tude on the other hand... well...
As his foot rested on the Yoshi’s face slowly the smell of rubberized foot leaked into the Yoshi’s nose and he slowly died down in his fighting as his eyes slowly dimmed and a dumb smile formed on his face. The rubber from Tude’s foot let an imprint on the Yoshi’s muzzle, as he lifted his foot there was a rubber mark on the Yoshi’s face. He quickly got up and bowed to the pair before Sop handed him a fruit which upon a command from Tude he ate without issue before his already dim eyes started to swirl with a green color.
“I can make anyone I touch into a drone...” Tude snickered, Sop giggled as he ate one of his own fruits with a slurp as two forms appeared at the edge of the village. One a giant familiar koopa, and the other a dark blue Yoshi with a grin on his face. The pair turned to look at them, Bowser looked on with a triumphant grin, and next to him was the leader of the rubber Yoshis, a black star on his forehead showing him as the leader.
“Fantastic work, Driv! It was a great idea to drag you into this world through your silly game shop! Now you’ve aided me in catching my first Yoshi village! Soon we can continue on to more Yoshi villages!” Bowser laughed, Driv snickering cruely as the other two leader Yoshis approached and bowed to their king and leader.
“Tude, Sop, you’ve both done great! Now come with me and we will finish up this village! Lord Bowser will have his first part of the new rubber Yoshi army! After this we will change more and more until the mushroom kingdom’s Yoshi populace is his!” the YoshiF laughed, the other two joined in on his cruel laughter, unaware of their regular lives outside of their new existence.
