I haven't read or been invested in the Archie Sonic comic since some time in 2013. After the whole Genesis Wave thing, my interest in the series eroded. But every once in a while, there comes a character or so that gets my attention. While I know little about her, Clove the Pronghorn became a little interesting, based on her design and what have you. So I decided to MS Paint her, perhaps standing atop some offscreen, fallen foe. Gotta look good for the mustachioed overlord.

Indeed. Even if a number of those plots had issues, were confusing, or were even dumb, it still wasn't all that great that the narrative dragged you through them, only to, as you noted, leave so much unresolved and render the whole thing pointless.
That said, I still periodically get glimpses of what it does now. And sometimes, it shows something slightly interesting, such as Clove (who I like the design of, not sure why).

I think the lack of a resolution for Silver's looooong story arc was the biggest slap to the face of them all. Seriously, they made me care about SILVER, that's no mean feat! I guess it's no use complaining about it now, though.
At least the new continuity's entertaining and consistent, but there's also the feeling of having walked right into the middle of it all. The fact that a version of Sonic 2 8-bit's story happened, but we don't see the majority of it, is especially frustrating.
Also, Ben Hurst did a similar backstory for Nicole years ago. :p
