The Viking Class Assault Carrier is an old KarmaTech design dating back to the days of the Dilgar War. During Earth's first engagements with the Dilgar, the Viking's compliment of fighters was that of the Aries and Flying Fox Class Starfury designs. By the end of the Dilgar War, the Aries and Flying Fox Starfuries had been replaced with the new Tiger Class Starfury design. The EAS Lodbrok (pictured) took part in the famous Battle of Balos, the final battle of the Dilgar War. During the final month of the Earth-Minbari War, a mothballed fleet of Viking Class Assault Carriers had been re-commissioned to try and slow the Minbari advance. All but two vessels of this class didn't survive the end of the war.

Each Viking Class Assault Carrier has 48 Starfury launch bays and a single large recovery bay topside just behind the dorsal heavy turret.
