The dance comp at Califur was a great time as always. I've never had the faintest idea how to dance, so I've always been amazed at the talent these competitions bring out; then I got a fursuit and gained an appreciation for just how much raw energy it takes to do this stuff. Seriously, put me on a dancefloor and I get tired just kinda waving my arms around, so I can't imagine how actual fursuit dancers not only survive their acts but come back on stage minutes later looking unfazed.
We actually barely made it in the door this year due to limited seating (looking forward to the bigger venue next year), so I mostly didn't bother with photography because my viewpoint was in a back corner three rows deep. In a way, it was nice to actually watch the dancers--including some familiar faces--rather than peering into my camera screen the whole time, and I did still get a couple decent shots when everyone came out on the floor at the end.
