lol They are a nice for little relief if you're a bit stressed. Kind of like Dr. Hibbert in The Simpsons. In the episode where Homer's rage boils over and nearly kills him, the good doc talked about "chuckling mindlessly" being his coping mechanism. So would that be a case of "Physician heal thyself"? Or "Only a foolish patient would have himself as his doctor"? Not certain if I'm remembering that 2nd one correctly though, been awhile since I dusted that one off. LOL

I try to find the humor in things too. And yeah, it's a real gambit as to if someone will find it humorous or not, but if it's just you then chuckle away. ;)
Yeah, death-cases are trickiest to make light of without sounding like you're making LIGHT of them. My grandpa could come up with something good... like when he attended my other grandpa's funeral back in 2010, he said "Boy, I hope whoever worked on him will work on me when I go!" lol I was a little surprised he went for that kind of a joke, but it was fairly amusing. My dad had brought him over, and made some comment to the effect of "yeah, me too".
Though when Dad died in 2011, I don't know if he got his wish, although they did do a really good job on him. Except his hair, during the wake, my sister and her friend (who was kinda like a member of the family), fixed his hair. LOL Morbid, but funny, especially since our mom was kinda running interference so people wouldn't notice. I was up front greeting the people coming in, so I heard about it after the fact. Got a good laugh from it when Mom talked about "running interference"!
Anyway, not everyone can handle that kind of humor, even those of us who sometimes practice it. lol
