Ripping and copying this from my dA account.. .-.
Hmmm..
Well, this is a couple months old sketch of mine that I supposed I should finally upload.
Anyways, this is an old character of mine, (very old.. she's.. eight years old, I believe :) ) and a very special one to me.
Verona is, of course, my own personal Dragonball Z character. She is the daughter of Bardock and Goku's twin sister. The only reason she survived the purge of Vejiita-sei is because, like Goku, Verona was sent off into space as a baby.
Prepare for a lot of reading. Her story isn't something that can be described in a few sentences.
Landing on a vastly technologically advanced planet (for she was simply sent with no actual coordinates into space and luck alone ensured she survived), Verona was raised as a gladiator in the planet's fighting pits for the race of Ikru-jin knew of the Saiya-jin and their worth as fighters. From the time she could walk, Verona was trained in their fighting style, controlled by a ki suppression collar that, when finally removed years later, had proved to be quite a boon to her power. But until that point, it was able to send painful shocks into her body, forcing the girl to learn to listen.
Verona was a rare oddity, not only in the fact that she was a female Saiya-jin when eighty-five percent of the fighting race was composed of males, but in the unusual coloration of her tail. The fur of Verona's tail is a gorgeous silver, luxuriously soft and hinting at her rather unusual nature. For while Verona is a Saiya-jin, she is also (what I have dubbed her as) an Ankreah. (Yes, that word is made up and it is used for Verona ALONE.) An Ankreah is basically a spirit medium of the Saiya-jin race, able to commune with the dead and see things beyond what most can. In exchange for this power of hers, Verona lacks the ability to take the Ouzaru, or Great Ape, form that every other member of the Saiya-jin race that transform into, ostracizing her somewhat from Vegeta, but her own raw potential more then makes up for that.
As it is, Verona grew in power and strength over the years and she came to love one of her masters rather closely. It was a simple love of friendship, but a deep bond that tied them together. He treated her with firm, strict kindness, rewarding her when she deserved it and punishing her if it was needed. However, the master at the time was a highly political member of the Ikru society and he had enemies as a result. Verona was kept close, a bodyguard of sorts, but even she was not omniscient for despite all her strength, the Saiya-jin could not stop her master in time from drinking a goblet of poison that not even her primal senses could detect.
It was the pain of this loss that drove Verona to ascending to Super Saiya-jin, the collar nearly overloading and killing her as a result as it fought to suppress the ki pouring through her. As it was, she was sent into a coma for a week, her body being forced to recover from the stress that had been put upon it. Four more years would pass (Verona having been twenty in standard years when she ascended) before she at last won her freedom. And with her newfound ability to decide what she wanted to do, Verona decided to roam towards the sense of someone close to her, for she didn't truly remember Goku, the pair having been separated as infants.
It was instinct alone and the bond the pair shared that brought her to Earth, Verona landing at the same time as Frieza and King Cold, his arrival overshadowing her own and concealing her power, the girl watched with open-mouthed interest as Trunks destroyed the pair, her interest in the swordsman piqued. Remaining away from the group, she watched them wait out the two hours it took for Goku to return at last to Earth.
Almost immediately after Trunks had left, Verona watching him go, she was called out by her brother who claimed that he'd "sensed her watching them" for some time now. When she allowed herself to come into sight at last, Verona had to bow her head and then bow again to Vegeta, recognizing him from several years of lectures from spirits that had come to her, impounding precious information into her head, information that she kept close. Obviously, thanks to the Z Fighters experiences with Saiya-jins (Nappa, Radditz, Vegeta himself), she was regarded with suspicion.
Goku himself asked who she was and Verona replied simply. "I am Verona." It was rather easy to figure that they were siblings, despite the pair not knowing each other. Not only did they physically look alike, right down to the distinctive style of hair that dominated Bardock's family line, but there was a sense of knowing one another deep in their minds, each having been aware of this other half all throughout their lives. Verona offered only an offer to help them and Goku accepted. Being made to abide by Goku's judgment, the others would slowly and gradually accept Verona amongst them.
Declining her twin's offer of living with him and his wife and son, she decided instead to live at Bulma's after a year of drifting from place to place and keeping in contact with the blue-haired techie. For Verona, like Bardock, had a good head for technology and she was able to assist Bulma in some things. She wasn't as good as her father had been with machinery but Verona knew enough to start on the path to learning such things. Vegeta tried to force Verona into mating with him, but the woman rebuffed him, saying that she had little interest in a mate who wanted her simply because she was the last of her kind, and as a result, something rare and uniquely precious.
The preparations for the androids continued and such events can be glossed over, for Verona lit up only when Trunks returned from the future. She had a viable interest in the young man and he in turn seemed interested in her, but other matters overshadowed a growing attraction. When Cell announced the Cell Games, Verona decided to follow the example of her brother and nephew, training in the Room of Spirit and Time (or, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, depending on what you want to call it). The first day, she spent alone and the second day, she went in it with Trunks. During that year, the two finally admitted their attraction to one another, both of them having developed tender feelings for the other. And during that year, quite close to the end of it, Verona got pregnant.
It was during the Cell Games, when Cell returned from blowing himself up and his murder of Trunks that Verona hit Super Saiya-jin level two, gaining the unusual spike of gold hair that hangs across her face at all times, whether she's Super Saiya-jin or not. Together with Gohan, she destroyed Cell, taking her revenge for not only the death of her mate, but for her brother's death as well. When the dragon balls were used to revive Trunks, Verona knew that she loved him for the joy of his return filled her to pieces and while she knew he cared for her, the two had never spoken of love to one another.
The night before Trunks left, Verona admitted to him that she was pregnant, drawing his anger for putting their child in danger and joy at the thought of being a father. He promised her that he would return once he had cleaned things up in the future and while he did return, Trunks left again.
And he didn't come back.
Seven months later, Verona gave birth to a little girl that blended (as Vegeta put it) the blood of Vejiita-sei's royalty with that of a lowborn commoner. And little Gogeta (Verona having insisted upon the name, more to annoy her father-in-law then anything else) had an unusual gain of power for Vegeta's blood blending with Goku's had already set the youngster at high levels for glory. From birth, Verona and Vegeta trained the girl to control her power, well aware that such a lack of restraint would be disastrous.
Events came and went, Verona gaining her brother back, fighting against Majiin Buu and finding that her daughter was dead when Buu turned everyone on the planet (save for those special few) into candy, pushing her to level three of Super Saiya-jin. Unlike her twin who had experience with the new state, she was a relentless powerhouse until she too fell under Buu's power. Like Vegeta, King Yenma allowed her to return to Eath to fight against the brute.
She aided in the fight as best she could, hot Saiya-jin blood inciting her temper. As it was, Buu was defeated and the Earth restored. Verona turned her attention to her daughter, watching as she grew up into a strong, willful woman who was the apple of both her mother's and grandfather's eye (although Bra would also share that with Gogeta later).
And then, Gardon came along.
(And I'll cut this off here for now. More on the next upload of this picture.)
This is my character and this story has been worked out in my head over several years. She is precious to me and I would appreciate it if you heeded the comment choice. If you wish to comment, I would appreciate all criticisms being kept silent. I have my reasons for these wishes and I ask that you respect them.
