As hard as it may be to believe: The two Daimler-Benz 603 engines with 1800HP each made this heavy interceptor the fastest German plane with conventional rotors. with a speed of 763 km/h. The idea was to create a plane with two engines that would show the wind resistance of a much smaller one engine plane, thus making it faster and way more fuel efficient. Only 39 were build and the plane never left test stadium.
