I was leaning toward Obama, but honestly I couldn't go with either candidate enough to actually vote FOR either. Most of my reason for liking Obama was based on my friends' opinions of him. With that as my main reason, I really didn't want to sheep-vote. Also, I couldn't tell whose words to trust(of my friends and family). Some people said some things about Obama that might be impeachable offenses, and would have kept him from making it this far. But he's gotten this far. If he's accepted campaign donations from non-US citizens, and if he actually has ties to Al-Queda..... don't you think Homeland Security would have tackled him already?
Then today, after the polls closed, my co-workers expressed their disdain for Obama, calling him "Osama" and... "nigger". *shudddddddderrrrr* I hate to even type that word. I expressed my disapproval of those two words, but THEY DIDN'T CARE. Eventually, after their prodding, I finally told them who I voted for. Neither. I just skipped the presidential section and voted on a few bills. They were happy that I at least didn't vote for Obama. I almost wish I did vote for him, now, just to offset their predudice(also, a friend of mine asked me to vote for Obama in place of him due to not getting his absentee ballot cast in time). The co-worker that actually used [the word] was even the only non-annoying girl there. If I were to date ANY of my female co-workers, I would have chosen her. Now I have no interest in her.
I have enough black friends that I have a right to be offended by racial slurs. The only black people I know are very awesome people. Also, unfortunately for my co-workers, blacks make up a large percentage of our customers.

GG! Penn, of Penn and Teller, said that if your not committed to a candidate, then just don't vote. But if you ARE, then go ahead and vote for who you support. I didn't vote, but I'm glad Obama won. McCain is an okay guy as far as I know, but Palin is just way too crazy to be allowed any real political power.
Clicking around on your various stuff makes me happy. I think I could like you a lot. ^.^
I should direct you to The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe. It's a great podcast for skeptical thinkers, and science news. http://www.theskepticsguide.org/ Cheers!

Thanks, I'm checking that website out right now and it definitely appeals to the logic side of me. It is now bookmarked.
Expect more atheistic images from me. I have a project planned that so far has been slow to start, but I'm passionate enough about my atheism(while respecting other opinions) that I'm sure to finally find the time to start it.
Thanks for the watch!

*hugs* With over 150 (And an hour each!) episodes to go though I'm sure you'll not be want for science-y stuff to listen to and be smart about. ^.^I'm still going through them myself. There was another co-host in the show who'd died recently from battling cancer. I haven't gotten into the back episodes yet that have him in it, but the others hold him in high regards.
I think one of my favorite recent shows spoke about a kid that ran outside with a cracker that a priest gave him, and it ended up with death threats against the kid's family and unbelievable blind hate from the church people, so much that an atheist scholar in a university stepped in and diverted their attention to him. I can't seem to find it in the episode list to direct you to it, though. =/

Hmm, I'm wondering what the people had against the kid running outside with a cracker. I'm sure I'll hear that episode sometime. I doubt I'll go through the archives very quickly, though, since I often have a backlog of unlistened-to podcasts, plus I'd prefer to keep atheistic things out of iTunes because friends have browsed my music collection before, so I'm using a different rss program for that. I've listened to the most recent episode and I've got to say they stay very positive. I respond well to positivity. This is why I don't watch the news. Skeptics' Guide has some very positive news stories and provides good depth on them.
