I'd suggest Dacien to train Teodor's son...Chelm?
There is one thing that bothers me a lot,
Dacien is become closely enough to become a controled mage, to me, already.
And since this is already Chapter 20, I assure that is what going to happen, too.
I do not believe Teodor will tell his son, and do that to his son if that is not close enough to be happen.
It is part of Teodor's plan, or he won't make any hints to other that may put himself and Dacien in danger.
Great, as always.
And I assure that what had bothered Dapple from the last chapter about presume Teodor...
is what Teodor was doing to Dacien, addictivation, isn't it?

Miss spelling, sorry.
And, well, I can see that is not from later chapters though...
Then I found I quite doesn't understand what was Dapple thinking. He seems somehow doesn't like to being with Teodor to me now.
Or....Oh, I had a guess.
I thought he was judging Teodor on what Teodor was doing to Dacien, but the description was only happen because Dacien looked Dapple's face a little bit afterward.....
Which means, Dapple didn't become "motionless" because Teodor and Dacien are...Intimate?
He was judging and feel discomfort because he wasn't being treat as a "slave," Even Teodor had a good reason to tell him to sit instead of kneel.

Hi Bowblack -
You can see why I didn't want to answer that question!
Dapple is still feeling out his position with Teodor and Dacien. It's very, very strange for a minotaur to be the slave of a human ... it's unheard of. It's so unheard of that it's ... totally baffling to Dapple. At the same time, he is a slave, and has no right to question what his master tells him. So he's confused, and is returning to the 'most correct' behavior he can.
Hope that helps,
Onyx Tao

Ah, but I think I made you answer it, sorry.
Hmm...being a slave of a human, well. I have thought of that before, but that didn't bother me much.
He wasn't acting like confuse, but seemed happy when he called Dacien "Master" after his name being taken.
He said he wanted to be the slave of Dacien and Teodor, and also had that thought that he will be Dacien's after he became Teodor's slave too.
I'm not a good thinker.
The conversation between Dacien and Teodor about Lord Green's opinion, human will never be able to become a mage because the life time is not enough, this linked to the problem I had. Now I understanded.
Teodor can't say tell the plan yet, and Dapple actually felt agree with Lord Green with it.
So if there won't be any changes to Dacien, then Dacien will be a human -slave-, and Dapple will be a slave to a human slave. If that is true that Teodor are doing something really pointless.
With this, he really is out of position too.
Well, feeling are not really something logic can explain, but did I get it right? I hope so, I won't be able to get any better thoughts beyond this, I suppose.

Xavien is ... not close to right. Before minotaurs extended their lifespan, a mage took about five to ten years to train. It was only afterwards that apprenticeships started lasting five to ten decades. So he's not entirely right, but ... there is a lot more to learn, too.
And yes, Teodor did have a means to deal with that.
Cheers,
