Sparkledogs? *blink*

Ha ha, I think this is still a primarily deviantART term.

"Sparkledogs" or "Sparkle Fluff Dogs" are over-simplified terms for a wide range of animal art (sort of like "emo" or "scene", I suppose, if one wanted to give them an equivalent.) They're essentially brightly coloured dog characters with lots of gradient shading, patterned markings resembling things like stars, skulls and rainbows... bright colour schemes, oddly coloured paws/tongues/ears... things like that. They're usually paired with some sort of "alternative" fashion, though that's not a must.

They're seen with a negative connotation by a lot of artists, as well. I like them, personally, but, as with any popular fashion or art craze, they're typically viewed as "unoriginal in their self-proclaimed originality", more or less. I think it's all kind of silly, to be honest, but there are some real jerks on deviantART. @_@

I think they're cute when they're done well. There's just...SOOOO many of them XD;. It's the kind of thing with anime art, sure there are great artists out there but there's also a lot of it, and a lot of not good stuff.
And I'm just not into it personally but I can certainly appreciate it ;3

Ah ha, that's interesting. *chinscratch* Reminds me of that my little pony craze from a while ago, everyone was drawing them. :x It was kind of scary and adorable all at once.
