Herein is the result of a Egg Adopt that was conducted by  AcidHybrid, in which I snagged the Shadow Egg, which came out as this beauty. This was the first time I tried an egg adopt, and I'm overly pleased with how this came out.

Even better is that I've been looking for something that resonates with me as a "Shadow Beast", since I've constantly been looking for something that could resemble living shadow, and herein is a design that I can be proud of for that. ^^

So, after some time, I've decided that I'm going to make this a personal species. An elemental comprised of shadow, derived from a wandering soul given new "flesh" through magical means. Essentially a being of pure shadow energy that can manipulate and reside in the material world.

Abilities of this species include:

-Shadow/Self Manipulation

If there exists a shadow, this creature could be residing within it. They are able to move through shadows as if it were water, and if put into a dark room, can strike from literally anywhere. This also plays into their body composition and capabilities as well. They could be completely incorporeal to corporeal and anything in-between. Light does not harm them, but only hinders their movement to their own locomotion via their physical bodies. Any part of their bodies can split and multiply, but they cannot diverge from the main body and eventually re-merge into each other.

-Flexible Composition

Their mouths exist primarily as holes in which a soft hissing can sometimes be heard, although they are capable of more feral growling. How they do this is unknown. These holes can expand and contract accordingly, able to take in prey should they wish to hold something or someone inside of them, which their physical bodies allow.

-Six Pairs of Hands

These creatures do not possess feet, per se. All three sets of limbs on this creature end in three-fingered hands, without thumbs, although either outer "finger" can act as one if needed. This allows a great access of movement, and grip potential on a target.

-Pure Energy

These creatures are almost pure shadow energy combined with magical interlacing and spiritual energy. Some of the spiritual essence can be seen through the white flame that courses from their eyes, mouth, nostrils, head, back, and tail. This flame can sprout from any point in the body, and will only cause harm if the creature chooses it too. The feeling is described as being flash-frozen, but it leaves terrible burn marks that turn the skin a sickly blackish-purple.

-Agile

Extremely light on their feet and very adept at movement and dodging attacks. They are slippery opponents that are hard to pin down and even harder to take down without proper preparation.

Species Characteristics (Size, Height, etc.)

Usual members of this species are about over 6-7 feet in length and stand about 3 feet in height when in a the statue shown here. Some members are capable of lifting themselves up on their rear legs and treating them like anthropomorphic legs. Some are capable of intelligent speech, while others are more feral. These traits differ from individual to individual, with sizes going as large as 17 feet in length and standing 9 feet tall to as small as 3 feet in length to less than a foot tall.
