Growth in Sherwood Forest
Robin Hood listened to the sounds of Sherwood's forest, searching for signs of potential dangers. But the forest was quiet and peaceful; it was clear that his pursuers had either lost him or decided to give up. And that was a good thing because that time the Sheriff of Notthingham and his posse had been quite stubborn into their pursuing of the famous outlaw and his companion, Little John.
In fact, they appeared so stubborn to don't give up the hunt that Robin and Little Jonh decided to split up and meet up at their secret hideout in the forest.
After making sure that he was truly alone, Robin started to head for his secret hideout, making his way through the thick forest while suddenly he emerged into a small clearing. While proceeding with more caution he noticed a small lake with crystalline waters. After such a long run in the forest, a bath in fresh water was a strong temptation.
After a little hesitation he dived into the lake; while going underwater he opened his eyes briefly and he saw a strange green glowing on the bottom of the lake.
Believing that his eyes had played a trick on him he resurfaced, allowing his body to float peacefully into the fresh waters. It felt so good and relaxing.
But all of sudden, he could feel that something was wrong. He could feel that his muscles were contracting into an unusual manner, like under the effects of a spasms.
His heart started to beat at an unusual high pulse and he quickly began to gasp, like after a long run.
He quickly swum near the shores of the lake where the water was less deep and he could stand on his feet. Once in a safe position he checked his body, for trying to understand what was going but what he was made him gasp in amazement.
His normally lean muscles where growing at an amazing speed, bulging powerfully under his fur, tearing apart his clothes!
His pectorals, as well as his shoulders, were growing so fast that, within few seconds Robin was unable to see his lower body but he could feel every muscle in his body growing at the same speed, his shoulders becoming large and brawny, his neck becoming thick and hefty.
Plate-sized abs started to form on his abdomen and, under the water, he could feel his legs going under the same transformation, his thighs and calves bulging, carrying his now enormous weight with ease while his huge biceps became swollen with strength.
He hunched a bit, everything building up inside up him before he finally fellt that the mysterious transformation was ending; his heart and breathing returned to normal and his muscles ceased to contract and growing.
Robin looked down at his hands and he closed and reopened his fists feeling the massive amount of energy that now was flowing through his veins. He was feeling strong enough to lift an entire carriage over his massive shoulder and that and it felt good. Really good!
After a few moments, savouring his newfound strength, he remembered that Little John had probably already reached the hideout from some time and was probably worried for his friend.
So he walked out from the lake, water dripping down from his massive body and grabbed his clothes with one hands. However, he immediately understood the futility of his gesture since now his clothes, compared to his humongous sized, looked more like kid’s clothes.
He scratched his head, thinking about the unexpected problem; he was in need to some bigger clothes of course but where to find them?
While thinking about the problem he heard the sound of some people approaching the clearing. Listening carefully, he could tell that it was three of Prince John’s rhino guards.
In normal occasions he would have decided to avoid them but this time he smirked and started to walk in the voice’s direction.
At first he had some trouble because his humongous body had some difficulties into going through the thick vegetation but in a few moments he adjusted to his size and started to move as silently as he used to be.
The more he approached to the guards, the more he felt excited about the chance he was about to get to test his newfound strength. He wasn’t worried at all but more like excited and eager for a fight.
“Let’s just hope that there will be at least one guard of my size!” he thought gleefully, marching and making his way through the forest.
I believe that Disney's Robin Hood has been the reason for which I started to love animation movies featuring furry characters, Seriously that movie had it all! Fun, romance, action,... and most of all superb animation!
After drawing my pic of Otto I felt like making a tribute to my childhood hero and what better way to turn him into one hunk of a fox, with a little story too?
And as I said in my last journal I believe I'm slowly getting better with the backgrounds! :-D
I hope you will like it guys! And please leave comments!
P.S.: about the little frog ... I was inspired by some old Disney comics I found in my attic. You see, I noticed that pretty often the Disney comics on the publications from 1990 1995 the comic books artists had often the habit to put on the background small non-sentient animals that would often look at the main character of the comic with a surprised/interrogative expression (and balloon). I don't know the reason but I always thought that it was a funny addition and I decided to add it here. Hehe, the frog sure has his reason for being surprised after all!
