Close up on WulfBane's right eye.
I used metallic copper paint, brushing it on from the center out. After applying the first coat and while it was still wet, I then used some a monofilament-like plastic thread to scrape some of the paint away to give the "veins" look to the iris. I used the plastic thread to do the vein lines because it was flexible and when I held it about 2 inches from the end, it would let it flex randomly left & right as I was running it along the radius.
Some of the copper paint would go back and refill the lines I drew, but it would be enough to give it texture & adjust the color, which is exactly what I was going for. After it dried, I did a coat of silver paint to fill in the remaining gaps for some extra pop to the color.
It's fairly hard to see the actual silver (it was more as a contrast to the copper & black), but if pressed, I can wave it off in character as either being traces of steel or possibly that it's residual from previous battles.
