I doodled this last night with a 005 Zig pen (without sketching it with a pencil first) while nervously awaiting the announcement of our new president. I knew Obama was going to win but I had a gut wrenching feeling that McCain had a chance of winning. Obama won by landslide. No-one wants any more republicans in the white house after the last idiot ruined our economy. As soon as Barack won, I stopped drawing this. This just wasn't fun enough to finish and it has too many mistakes. it so here it will stay....

Unfinished or not, the doodle shows just how far you've come in the use of linework, shading techniques, and contrast, all in the service of texture and the vivid illusion of three dimensions.
Please, keep going. Keep going! :)
(I believe that people who rely on Photoshop could learn a great deal more about painting and colour values if they worked with black ink and with traditional, time-tested linework and shading techniques. Knowing how to create depth and "colour" with ink alone would serve them well in other media, digital or traditional -- without the fancy tricks that all-too-often take the place of knowledge on FA.)
