"That's a nice shot of Venti's head," Art said as he examined the picture on Damon's cell phone. "And you took that with your cell phone camera?"
"Yup. Two megapixel camera. I love technology."
"His ears look kinda short, though."
Damon shrugged, putting away his phone in his pocket. "I think it was the angle. Venti's a tall dude, you know."
"Yeah, I'm reminded every time he ducks to get through the door." Art paused for a moment to put on his apron, then asked "So are you ever going to tell him how you feel?"
Damon shook his head. "Never."
"Why not?"
"What if he says he's not interested? Then it'd be like all awkward working together and stuff."
Art rolled his eyes, letting loose a short laugh. "Oh, like it wouldn't be awkward if you two were dating AND working together, huh?"
"Maybe. I dunno."
"You know that if you surrender and give up on him he'll never know anyway." Art shrugged, shaking his head. "I mean, I like Venti, don't get me wrong, but he can be very self-absorbed."
"So absorbed that not even light can escape?"
"So absorbed that no mirror can escape his gaze."
Damon laughed. "He's not that vain."
"One time I saw him flexing his arms in the backroom. He didn't know I was there."
"Well, when you got it, flaunt it."
Art smirked at Damon. "You quoting from the book of Venti?"
Damon tilted his head. "I didn't know he even had a book."
Art nodded solemnly. "He must be writing one, why else would he come up with all those catchphrases?"
Damon pulled out a coffee filter, placing it inside the basket and scooping up some coffee grounds from the container beside him, pouring it into the filter. "Because he's just that awesome?"
"You've been hanging out with him too much lately. That was a direct quote."
Damon's face grew sad. "We haven't hung out in two weeks. He's always been busy with something, but he won't tell me what."
"Aw, I'm sorry." Art patted Damon's shoulder, giving it a squeeze. "Why's he so busy all of a sudden?"
"I think...he's got a boyfriend."

Shame that not so many are reading these as you have posted these late. Well, the series is amusing on its own, as I said, can't really relate to the gay view, but I find the stories funny nonetheless. This is a bit more serious, the two characters pondering about the situation in their workplace. Nice little piece.
