Lazarus (oops everyone knows he's mine now) is an interesting character. This is a rough mockup of a painting I'm going to be fleshing out. Acid trippy, sort of surreal, but symbolic for sure.
The lyrics below are actually a really good storytelling prop and promoted some interesting sort of images when paired with the opening verse and the line "Welcome to my Zoo." The elder Lazarus has transcended time, or something and given his younger self a prophetic style dream, warning him (crypticly) away from the one thing in his future that completely destroys him.
The dark bits are up for interpretation. It could simply be the void closing in on him, it could be some icky black tar meant to represent his wicked transformation, or a chrysalis.
Toes by Glass Animals.
Listened to this song on repeat while fleshing this out, it's just too good.
Looks like shit now, but once I'm not sleep deprived I'll work it out.

Toes - Glass Animals
To the left now boy
Underneath the moon
By the thick tan sand
And the tall thin grass
One more thing for you
See the distant flume
In the sleepy dunes
Makes my nerves clench close
And my bones go cold
When I see that roomToes by Glass Animals.
